Rising in the heart of downtown Austin, The Paseo (49 floors) and Travis Tower (50 floors) set a new benchmark in mixed-use urban development—bringing together modern office environments, residential living, and dynamic public spaces at significant vertical scale.
The Challenge
Designed to support high-density occupancy across 99 combined floors, the project required a highly coordinated approach. The GC required just-in-time (JIT) weekly drops of pre-hung doors and pre-mitered casing, with base and closet packages staged ahead—all while maintaining pace on combined 99 story vertical build.
Key constraints included:
- Sequenced floor-by-floor installation with minimal on-site storage.
- Exacting delivery windows to avoid congestion and re-handling.
- Consistency across thousands of openings (unit entries, interiors, amenity spaces).
- Integration with framing and finish trades on a tight cadence.
If I had the ability to go back and re-buy all the doors frames and hardware again I would have given the entire scope to TCH.
